Dangers While Hunting Near Water


The two major dangers of hunting near water are:

     1. DROWNING – about 90% of all boating fatalities are drownings. Most drowning victims were not wearing a PFD (personal flotation device, "Life Jacket") or were wearing one that was inadequate.

     2. HYPOTHERMIA – a quiet killer, which occurs when the body loses heat faster than it can produce it.
