Why Learn about Ethics and Responsibility?

The greatest threat to hunting in North America is not anti-hunters. It is the negative hunter image created by poor hunter behavior in the field.

Our actions when we are not hunting may also give hunters a poor image. For example, bragging about the animals we kill or wearing dirty hunting clothes in public gives all hunters a poor image.

Just a small percentage of people in North America are anti-hunters. An equally small percentage are hunters. Surveys show that the majority of people in North America consent to your decision to hunt. However, that support from non-hunters (and even other hunters) decreases when hunters act unsafe or unethically in the field.

The best time to decide to be an ethical hunter is before you hunt! Decide to be Safe...Legal...and Responsible. Don't be a Slob or a Poacher!
