Shot Placement

Even when you know how far away your target is, and you know you can hit a target at that distance, you still have to place your shot correctly in order to get a clean kill. A shot that is placed outside the vital area of an animal will only wound it. The animal may run or fly away someplace where you cannot recover it. It may die from its wounds, but if you cannot recover it, it is wasted. Be sure you know the vital areas of whatever game animals you are hunting.
