About This Course

hunter education students at a practice rangeThis course will highlight "learning objectives" at the beginning of each lesson. These are the important points of the lesson that you will need to know and understand when you're finished. These objectives are thought of as "knowledge-based"—they are things you need to know before you go hunting. Additional "good-to-know" information will be provided on related subject areas where you can learn more about these topics.

In most cases after completing this online course, you will also be required to attend a class that provides additional training on important “skill-based” objectives. These classes typically include handling firearms and other hands-on learning activities. It may also include other lessons on subjects important in your state or jurisdiction.

To learn more about these class opportunities and specific requirements in your state or province, visit the IHEA hunter education directory page.
